A Travelodge spokesperson said: “It’s no surprise that the top spots were taken by iconic, historic classics like the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace, but it’s also great to see people rate newer attractions such as Battersea Power Station and Sky Garden too.”
Standing for almost 1,000 years, the Tower of London has long been one of the city’s most beloved attractions.
Throughout its long history, the Tower has served as the home of the crown jewels, the home of the Royal Mint, a public record office and an armoury.

Since its construction, it has also acted as a dungeon, holding some of Britain’s most infamous prisoners.
During World War Two, the Tower was again used as a prison and witnessed the executions of 12 men for espionage.
Visitors to the iconic landmark have hailed the history on display as well as the array of different activities for families to do.
On TripAdvisor user said: “The first tour by Beefeaters started at 10 and was well worth it. It allowed us to see the inside of the chapel (not generally open to the public) and hear lesser known facts.”
